The drawings in ‘Topography’ are abstract but they contain the residue of the landscape that surrounded me during a year living in the high fell country of Northern England. The mark making and materials used are a response to the subtlety of that landscape, the linear delicacy of the hills, the soft washed out greys of the sky, grass and heather and the faded, crisscrossed scarring of the drystone walls.
